Trip to Little India – Ponggal Santhai
|
|
On the 16th of January 2012, our Tamil pupils together with 6 parent volunteers visited the Ponggal Santhai. This year our focus was to educate pupils on “Maatu (Cow) Ponggal.” Pupils got a chance to see the cows decorated and the rituals carried out on that day. In addition, our pupils took part in quizzes, watched a cultural performance and did a kolam drawing. This learning journey allowed our pupils to gain a deeper understanding on Ponggal celebration and the need of thanking our nature.
